Last week around our casa

Enjoying some mashed potatoes while Mommy and Daddy cooked dinner Sunday after church.
How cute is that dress?
Her new look.... PIGTAILS!
So happy Mommy let her play with the broken computer (it gave me 5 min. on the laptop before she popped a key off!). :)
She was so funny "working" on her computer.
Do you notice she is gripping the chair arms her Barney episode was so intense. LOL

Sweet smile!

This week

Well, this has just been the most fantastic week (I am holding my breath after making a statement like that though). Seriously though, we got a contract on our house in Florida and Baby K has been phenomenal! She has been very obedient, happy and has not thrown but a couple kicking and flailing fits all week. I have looked forward to going to get her up every morning and from her naps. She has been such a playful and happy little baby. I admit I usually pray she will sleep longer during naps and in the a.m. because so many days she just fights me all day, but not this week. I am hoping this lasts through the weekend so that HH can experience it. He won't believe his eyes OR EARS!!! I am so thankful for this week. It has been my favorite week thus far as a mommy.

On another note, I have given up (for some time now) tea, cokes, anything with carbonation or caffeine, most chocolate, tomatoes, citrus and I am sure there are more things that aren't popping in my head. This has been all in the name of getting my reflux in check. After 14 weeks of not sleeping but about 3 hours a night at least 5 days a week, it is better! I am still not eating/drinking the above foods, but the doctor changed (and finally got the insurance company to pay for) my meds last week and it was a night and day difference. I have slept through the night for the last 7 days! Praise God!!!!!

Still, I have struggled with giving up sweet tea. I had been reading online what I could have that would be similar and they said to try green tea. Well, I didn't want hot tea and had thought about buying some green tea bags (do they make these???) like the regular tea bags to brew a pitcher of green tea and add some good old fashioned sugar, but hadn't remembered to pick up the tea bags at Walmart. Well, today I was at Sam's buying my husband's work some more coffee because tragically when he arrived this a.m. there was NONE. I decided that Baby K and I would split a hot dog combo and when I went to get my drink they had "sweetened green tea". Go figure! I am still not sold on it as a replacement for regular sweet tea, but I have to admit, I really have enjoyed it! Whoo hoo!!!

Okay, signing off now. I have some bible study to work on.

Love you all!

What's goin' on round here?

Update: I have added the video at the bottom. If it doesn't play yet, come back and try later. It may still be processing.
First she was curious, then....
kinda scared when she saw THIS...
We took her to a hibachi grill last weekend and overall, she really liked it. She ate a ton!
We have our new double stroller and Baby K uses it as a jungle gym. She can climb up into it by herself and climb from front to back and back to front and take turns sitting in both seats. I have a video, but will have to post later because it is still uploading.

Just in case you wanted to see an upclose view of the pattern. Super cute! This stroller was brand new and almost 1/2 off the normal price! Yeah!

Love you all!

Baby K's new do

I took a little trip to Sally Beauty today in hopes of finding some hair taming product (for me) and saw these "non-hair-breaking" elastics and got brave. I have been wanting to put Baby K's hair in a Pebbles hairdo for a while, but didn't have the nerve. I was scared I would hurt her. Well, it worked. Isn't it cute? She likes her bows, but they don't stay in at church and such, so I thought this would keep her growing mane more "kept looking." We shall see. :)
I also snapped a quick picture of my new haircut the other day before we headed out to the soft play in Hilton Head. By the way, she had a great time there, but as we left I backed into a car. Ugh!!! What a day, it was pouring rain, I was exhausted from jumping in all the bounce houses with her because they "encourage the parents to get in". What they really meant was you are not allowed to put your child in without supervision, and since she is so small if I didn't want her to get mangled by the older kids (not on purpose, but still mangled) you have to get in and "help". I had alot of fun, but after about 30 minutes of bouncing and climbing the what they called "steps" - more like some pieces of foam wrapped in plastic at a very steep angle, I was wiped out! We ended up staying for 1 1/2 hours and when we left it was pouring and I backed into a car. Not much damage (none to our vehicle) but I had to go into two places in the strip mall and go from person to person to ask if they owned the silver car. SOOO embarassing! I finally found the people and they were very rude. Okay, so yes, I just hit their car, but there was barely any damage and I walked in and handed them my insurance card and just kept apologizing, but non-the-less, where they come from this is an action that requires you to be a jerk to the person who, I am sure, MEANT to hit your car and go trekking into a strip mall door to door and asking each person if it was their car that was just hit. It is so convenient when you are hauling around a 15 mo. old in the pouring rain!!! LOL Anyways, our insurance company is all over it and I just hope they are never treated that way if they hit someone ON ACCIDENT!!!!
I am excited to say that I woke up this morning with energy and no nausea!!! I have had a couple days like this, but for the most part I am wiped out all the time and have morning sickness on and off til early evening. I am very thankful that I can eat with this child.

I was thinking today as I watched a new baby in her momma's lap at church that I am getting excited, nervous and feeling a bit unprepared. It is still so surreal that I am carrying another baby. I feel so blessed and so undeserving at the same time. I feel like it can't be real because we have already been so blessed with so much goodness in our little family of 3. None-the-less though, I can't wait to find out if it is a pink or blue baby.... did I blog and tell you all we find out on July 29th? I think so, but if not, that's the big day. I am hoping the baby will cooperate with the tech. :) I don't know what I will do if he/she doesn't?!

I will admit though that with this baby, I know it's a baby in my tummy. I mean, with Baby K, we knew in our heads, but not in our hearts. It is almost like reading about something and then seeing it in real life. It is just so different (and usually better) than you expected.

I am ready for a chance to do the new momma thing all over again. I feel like I did so many things wrong (maybe not wrong, but different) than I would do given the chance to have Baby K as a newborn again. One thing in particular is our pediatrian (whom I really liked and still wish we could see her) told us to not let her cry more than 2 minutes at a time for the first 5 mos. I believe that caused us the trouble at 3 mos. where she was waking me up 8-9 times a night because she just wanted to hang out and she knew that if she cried we would come and get her. We did let her cry for 15 min. at a time, but no more than that. Who knows, I may make every mistake all over again, but I will love my baby as much as I can, which is what I have done with Baby K, and will know in my heart that I have been the best mom I can be and will for sure more make mistakes! That's life! I can remember my mother comparing herself to a couple other mom's that were peers when she was raising me and she admired their mothering skills, but when we were all grown up, we had all made mistakes, and she was at peace with her "mothering job".

I say all this to say that I am certain whether this is our last baby or not, I will feel the same way after my last baby. I will wish I had done things differently, but as long as I do the best I can, I know that is all I can do! Okay, enough rambling. Go enjoy the last bit of your weekend.

Happy Sunday. Our love to all!
