Weekends are great!

Daddy/Hubby was sick this weekend, so LM and I were on our own Saturday. Sunday he woke and up wanted to stay home and rest so I went to church and he kept LM.

On another note, we are trying to wean her off of the bottle before our trip (and will be making the transition to milk in the next couple of weeks) and we had a very successful weekend. She only had 2 bottles all weekend and the rest of the time she drank her formula from a sippy cup. Yeah!!!!!! I actually found some sippy cups at Walgreens that look almost identical to the Nuby cups, but don't leak!

We (I) caved and broke out her birthday present! Since she and will be gone on her birthday I figured, why not? The whole family attempted to get in... not so successful. ;)

If this video doesn't work when you try it, try back later... I published post before it was done processing.

Run Handsome Run!

So, I have had a killer headache since last Wednesday and am finally about to burst. I need my husband to come home right now! Please honey, come home and take care of our child so I can go die somewhere a slow and painful death. LOL

No, really, days like today need a husband that is home at 5:30 instead of 7:00 or 8:00! Actually, LM has been fussy for the last three days, and by fussy I mean she walks around hollering at me all day. I have tried standing on my head and it doesn't impress her anymore. Any words of advice? :) Does every mom have these days/weeks, or it is just me? I am feeling alone in this uphill battle right now. I end my day so frustrated lately (am sure this whole headache for a week has nothing to do with it?!) and just am waiting for it to let up a bit. Well, gonna run, had to vent for a moment. Back at it!

Some cute pics from our trip to Charleston

I will post the "touristy" pics later, but wanted to share these fun moments with all of you!

This was her discovering the dirt and grass....
and now she eats it!

These next four pics are my favorite "current" expressions... you all know, she is quite expressive!

ALL DIRTY!!!! Check out her mouth. :)

My baby care crystal ball was right!!!

This morning LM was fussy. I have an allergy to milk and she had some yogurt with oatmeal for breakfast followed by 2 oz. of formula and 1 oz. of milk. I read that I am supposed to start incorporating milk (not formula) into her diet now and am afraid that may be causing her fussiness. I am uncertain, but the last few mornings she has taken a nap around 9 or 10 and at 11:30 she would not go down, but kept rubbing her eyes and crying. Anyone have any bright ideas or words of wisdom to figure out if it is the milk or not? Should I try her on soy already?

Well, I consulted my imaginery crystal baby care ball and asked it what to do after 4 hours of walking around whining and it said, "baby is fed, dry and doesn't want to play, rubbing eyes, and whining- put her in her bed until she takes a nap." :) It worked!!! Almost 2 hours later she is still sleeping. I heard her glowworm going for about 20 min. after I layed her down but she appears to be sleeping soundly now. Yeah!!!

Have you ladies all heard of the garra rufa fish treatments? It appears they are only in Virginia. I have realized this after searching diligently for one in our area. In case you missed the news about it a few months ago, check this out. http://www.usatoday.com/news/offbeat/2008-07-24-pedicures_n.htm (can someone please tell me how to make a word clickable and link to an article or website- don't have those skills yet, needing some help)

Anyways, I have been scrubbing my hands and feet in desperation because this cold weather... 33 degrees!!! is drying me out. My chapstick is almost gone and I think if I scrub my feet or hands anymore I will get blisters. SOOOO I searched online for one of those fish treatments in my area. NONE, NONE!!! I am SOOO sad. I would have gladly driven out of state to meet some of those fish and just sit in a big pool of them. LOL I actually saw a pic of a lady sitting in a hot tub sort of thing and they were exfoliating all of her skin off. I am very jealous of her right about now. I guess I will have to continue with my home remedies and my silicone glove Avon lotion. It seems to be the best bet so far.

Well, I just heard LM wake up, so I am going to scoop her up and head to the post office. Lots of business to conduct. :)

Our love to all!

I love this age!

LM is almost 11 mos. old! How time flies. :( I absolutely love this age though and can't imagine it being any better. She is so funny. She spends most of her day making me laugh with her straight lipped smiles and giggles. Her favorite toy (she actually has many) is her book with all the little buttons that play music. She will start the music and try to hurry to another toy and have time to play, but when she realizes the music is going to stop, she hurries back, starts it again and runs back across the room to play again. Repeat this for about 30 min. and it is as if you were in our house before bed tonight. It was so cute. Oh yeah, her dancing has advanced! She now bends her knees and bounces while she rocks back and forth. Too fun!

She has started taking one nap a day and it is about 2 hours, instead of 2 naps only 45 min. to 1 hour each, and she is SOOO much happier. I think she wasn't getting enough sleep and waking too early. She is waking up and playing instead of waking up and crying for me.

We had some guests this morning and the girls played and played and played while I got to chat with a friend. It is so fun to get together and see our kids play so well together. LM follows her friend around the house and watches some and plays some, but usually just tries to keep up. At one point, they were both in the princess tent in her room playing.

Bible study is starting tonight at 8 and I am SOO excited. Dinner is on the stove and I am about to run and eat and open my book before everyone arrives. I hope you all had a great day. I know LM and I did! Tomorrow is Friday! Yeah!!!!

Love ya!

More fun stuff!!!

I just got back from Wal-mart. You know, get out of the house to grab a couple things like creamer and cream of chix soup. LOL This is what we came back with!
This is $245.00+ tax worth of toys for $108.00 (including tax)!!! Over $140.00 off! Many future gifts! I figured with all my nieces and my nephew I could go ahead and take care of Christmas 2009. :) Yeah!

A couple more things.

We are gearing up for LM's birthday. I just ordered her gift. What do ya think?? I can't wait. It was a tie between doll furniture... you know, the crib, stroller and high chair set or this.... I may need to order extra balls, but will see after it gets in. Now, if I can only wait until her birthday to open it. I wanna play too!!!!

Another thing, because I know you all notice... yes, we stay in our jammies MANY days! That is why 75% of our pics are of LM in her jammies. It is always so cold and her jammies are so warm, soooo unless we are ambitious (or have somewhere to go) we stay in our "uniforms." :)

Well, gonna run!

Love you all!

More randomness

First and foremost (LOL) is anyone watching The Bachelor??? Well, I realized the other night why I like Melissa so much. publicness! Really, publicness? I too make up words all the time and everyone around me knows what I mean, but rarely can I ever get the right word from my brain to my lips. (It may even be a stretch to say it was ever there to start with.) SOOO Melissa, I agree, that publicness is rough stuff! ;) In fact, after she said that, I ran downstairs (I am banned to the upstairs while I watch "trash tv") and told my husband. He laughed because he gets to hear my made up words all the time. Yes, I want Melissa to win! She and I have an unbreakable bond!

Now ladies (and gents), I tried for 9 mos. to blame my vocabulary, or lack thereof, on pregnancy. Looking back, I am not sure I ever had one. I mean, I can remember teachers in school teaching me words, but I don't think they ever made it to the top. You know, to their resting place, my brain. I think they lingered around my toes instead. Pretty sure it was all the nail polish fumes from high school. :) On another note, has anyone tried Restaurants.com? I may have already asked this, (can't remember) but if you have, please comment and tell me about your experience, please.

Here are some pictures from this weekend. LM likes to play hard and laugh even harder. She is so much fun and likes to rough house with her daddy.
