She walks!

Well hello! We arrived safely home on Sunday evening and had a busy day planned for Monday. Our little friend Devin was out of school this week and could meet us at the zoo either Monday or Friday and since my handsome hubby might be off on Friday we opted for a playdate on Monday. SO, bright and sunny Monday morning we were off to the zoo... in Jacksonville. What did that mean? It meant a screamer back in the car after a 7 hour car ride on Sunday, but it was WELL WORTH IT!!! She only cried the first hour. LOL We got to see Anna and Devin and had a wonderful, relaxing time looking at the animals. Thank you Anna and Devin for meeting us. We are so glad to have you!

It was also a day of firsts for us. I have posted many pics and videos for you to see! She walked more than 3 steps... 6 to be exact... at a time, has started dancing consistently when she hears music and has turned into such a climber that she will climb and stand up on her chair to reach things. Watch out mom is right! She can get into EVERYTHING!

I am sooo incredibly thankful that God gave us a little girl. She is such a blessing and makes us laugh each day. It is so fun seeing the world through her little eyes. She got her first baby doll around Christmas and I have been rocking it and loving on it and kissing it and when we got home on Sunday night she started kissing it too. She will kiss it and give it back to me and I will kiss it and she will want it back and we just repeat until she is done and moving on to something else.

Also, I was so excited yesterday when she started walking because I was on the phone with daddy and after her third step I started counting. (She has been taking 2 or 3 steps for a couple weeks, but would get wobbly. :) Well, when I got to 6 he asked me what I was counting and when I told him her steps it was even more exciting because he was on his way home and got to see them for himself. She was so glad to show daddy her dancing and walking that we even got it on video for you. Yeah!

We had a great time in Birmingham at Christmas. Thank you to all of our family for always making us so welcome. I will post pics as soon as I get some. I have just a couple on my camera but am requesting that my sis-in-laws and bro-in-laws email me some because I didn't get any of me, daddy and little bit! Ugh! Anyways, will post those soon.

Love and miss you all!

See mom, I can get it myself!

Little Bit's first carousel ride. She didn't even need any help. She knew what to do. That was such a wonderful moment!

Practicing holding on before the ride started.

A few pics from the last week

So, I have started attempting to get her to eat food that is not in a jar. I have been steaming and mashing up veggies but she will have nothing to do with them. As I have continued to try I have learned something... if she can get dirty while doing it, she will eat them! She tries to get some into her mouth but really just licks her fingers, so I, using my own fingers, have to feed her. She will not take the food from her spoon unless it is from a jar. HOW BIZARRE! At least she is eating it, huh?

Showing off the quilt her Mimi made her for "Baby's First Christmas." It has her name, birth date, weight, height and time on it and on the back it says Baby's First Christmas, Love, Mimi. Thank you Mimi! (click on the picture below and it will come up big and you can really see how adorable it is and can actually read the writing on it!)
As you can see below, we have had some quite warm weather! She was running around in a diaper alone last week. Here she has on a little summer dress because it was 78 degrees outside.

Enjoying her snack...
"Mom, is this how you want me to pose?" LOL Love the puzzled look on her face.

Fun with the tent...

A box just for me...
Oh, yeah!

Doesn't it look like she is posing with her new puppy dog?

She loves her new tent... so much for Christmas presents!

Well Hello!

Sorry it has been so long since I posted. Things have been rather busy with all the Christmas decorating, etc. Finally I will slow down and update all of our faithful readers with some fun news. :)

Our little blessing turned 9 mos. Saturday! What a big girl she has become! She went to the doctor today and was 28 inches long (65%) for height and 17 lbs. (20%) for weight. She has only gained 1/2 lb. in 3 mos., but the doc said that was absolutely normal. He said her % will most likely continue to decline until she is about 15 mos. old. and that she may even get down in the single digits for percentiles.... not to "freak out." LOL

9 month chair pic...

On another note, we took her Saturday night to see Santa. She just stared at him. She did fine (this year) in his lap and we got a couple of cute pictures. Enjoy!

After taking her to see Santa, we headed down to church for a Christmas production. They had a nursery for kids under 2 so we dropped her off. The play was awesome and I saw the most real looking baby doll of baby Jesus I have EVER seen!! It was just like she was holding a newborn in the 40 degree weather. I was so convinced it was real that I was worried about the baby catching a cold. The lady next to me heard my concern and assured me it was just a doll. Just a doll???? I think not, it was truly a work of art! Anyways, back to my point... We went to pick Little Bit up from the nursery and one of the ladies asked us, "How long has your baby been walking?" Okay, really? Did I just hear her right? I politely said, "Our baby doesn't walk yet. She has been standing on her own for a couple of months but will only take one step." She replied, "No, she was taking at least 6 steps at a time for me!" Okay, ladies/gents, I stay home with my child so that I can see all of her firsts and so far I have missed 2 biggies, rolling over and now walking! So, we still have not seen her walk as she prefers to crawl to us, so maybe I will just keep dreaming and can "act" like it is her first time when I see it. :)

We are really enjoying it here. There is a playgroup in our neighborhood and I have met some really sweet ladies, all of which stay at home with their youngens! Yeah, friends for Little Bit and me! We have been going to the mall together and to see Santa and having friends over to play. It has been great and is really keeping us busy.

At the mall on the slide... she looks terrified, but she LOVED it!

Also, that crying/fussy/needy baby which appeared for the first 7 mos. of her life has gone away. Our little angel has become the BEST BABY!!! She is always smiling and is doing phenomenal in the car, stroller, wherever I take her. It has been so wonderful to be able to get out of the house and not worry about meltdowns all over the place. I am actually planning a trip to the Jax Zoo in a couple of weeks, which means we will spend over 3 hours in the car and I am not even worried! Yeah for Baby K!
Well, better close. I have an ugly eye infection and I need to go put some more drops in before I forget. Our love to all and Merry Christmas!
