Chatty Kathy

So, after two doctor appointments yesterday, 3 trips to the pharmacy for 4 prescriptions and a trip to the lab, we are feeling better already! Okay, so maybe the medicine is just talking for me, but I actually have some energy today... very little voice, but some energy, so life is good!

It is my goal to finish cleaning the house by the end of the week, but this weekend is creeping up very quickly... maybe that was too lofty of a goal! :) No, seriously, we spent the better part of the first week curled up on the couch between meals and then Wednesday (all day except for 2 hours) at the docs and it is Thursday already. Whew, time flies when you are having fun, or sick, but still flies!

I decided to take a few minutes out of my busy day (LOL) to blog because as I told my mom it has been 3 weeks. She quickly corrected me and told me actually today is September 24th and I haven't blogged since August 27th, so technically almost a month. Really, who's counting? I guess my mom and maybe a couple other readers are! :) Love you Mom!

So, here goes the real post (now that all the non-sense is out of the way):

I LOVE THIS AGE! No, not my being 29, but Baby K being 1 1/2 years old! She is such a good little girl (most of the time!) and is happy and is learning so much. I have a little sponge on my hands. While at my doctors appointment yesterday she was an angel. Now, this is saying alot because I am usually chasing her around the office telling her "no" and praying that they will call us back already because if they wait much longer they will admit me to the hospital for blood pressure issues. So, I was praising God for her delightfulness in the waiting room and then in the office.

While in the office, I had to have an exam and Baby K started taking her shoes off, I told her "no, please leave your shoes on" and she looked at me and then down at my shoes on the floor and shot me a "life is so unfair" look. I didn't realize that she was just doing what mommy did. She threw a little fit, but it wasn't anything goldfish couldn't handle! Praise the Lord for goldfish!

It got a bit hairy around lunchtime because she was soooo sleepy and they wanted me to pee in a cup for the 3rd time and I just couldn't. Sorry, probably TMI, but Baby K and I walked around the hospital for 1 1/2 hours drinking juice and stopped for lunch for a few minutes all so I could head back to the lab. Finally, with about 3 drops in the cup I told the lady, "Sorry, that's all I've got!" We left and Baby K took a 15 min. nap in the car and then was wide awake.

While in the waiting room, I realized how much she is saying lately. Most of the time I think she says things and I just can't understand her so I don't realize they are real words, but yesterday was different. There was even another lady in the waiting room that understood her. She kept asking me, "did she just say ____." I am so thankful that the Lord allows me to be her mommy and that it was peaceful yesterday and I got to catch so many new words from her. Some of them included: shoes, light, book, and foot. This is in addition to the ones she says all the time like: please, thank you, yes, no, baby, bubble, stinky, yucky, yummy (pronounced "mmmmyy"), love you, puppy, ducky, all kinds of animal sounds and so much more. She is a talking fool!

Also, it is appropriate to note that she wants to do everything mommy does, so I must beware. She wants her toes painted, her legs and underarms shaved, deoderant on, earplugs in, nose blown, bubble soap like mom has, rings on her fingers and a purse on her shoulder. She has recently taken a very big liking to shoes. (see post below) She shoe shops in my closet and often finds pairs and comes out wearing them. It is so cute. Sunday before church she was helping me put my make up on, my jewelry on and she even took the liberty to pick out my shoes... black flip flops with big green bow with my initial on them! I must admit, I kind of like having someone make those decisions for me and think it's awesome she knows that pregnant feet belong in flip flops, but I thought it a bit more appropriate to change shoes when she wasn't looking. ;) Love that little girl so much!

We went to the mall last week and I found a couple of really cute pair of shoes at Payless for her, but didn't buy them. (waiting on a sale!) She gladly helped me remove her shoes and she kept pointing for more shoes she wanted to try on. Then we went to the ladies aisle and she wanted to try on all the shoes I liked too! Thankfully, we walked out without spending a penny, but got some good retail therapy. We didn't do as well at Gymboree, but that's another story. Such cute clothes for my kiddos!

Also yesterday, she changed a stinky on her baby doll. I saw her grab a diaper, take off running across the room hollering "stinky, stinky" and proceed to place the diaper over her whole baby. Maybe we are onto something here! Do you think I could have her trained to change diapers by the time Little Man comes along? Nah, but it's a good thought, huh?

Yeah, yeah, yeah for Baby K!

I know, cheesy title, but I am so excited for my little girl today. She is busy exploring her surroundings and is learning so many new things from all her little friends in the neighborhood and at church.

Saturday she started trying to wave.
Sunday she started making the kissy sound (the smacky noise)
Today- boy oh boy, today she surprised me- She has two (it appears, she won't let me examine) new teeth on top, she started making a sound that sounds alot like da da AND she drank an ounce from her sippy cup! YEAH!!!

Okay, so I know the sippy cup thing doesn't seem like much, I mean, an ounce??? Yes, it is a very big deal. I have been wondering how we would get her to like a sippy cup by March when we have been trying on and off for 6 mos. and she would just bite on the bottom of the cup. The doc told us to just put it on her dinner/lunch/breakfast (LOL- must be thinking backwards today) tray with a little milk in it so she would get used to it. Well, I confess, I haven't been as consistent as I should have been, but it has been appearing more and more times each week and last week she started tasting the milk. Today, she actually drank it! Yeah for Baby K!

A TOOTH!!!

This morning a sliver of a tooth appeared in her mouth. Just thought I would share! It is on the bottom left-front.
