BIG GIRL COMING THROUGH!!!!

I wanted to post some progress updates. These are pics from the last few days around here. Enjoy!

She concentrates very hard but can stand for long periods (a couple minutes) at a time before giving up and sitting down because she sees something she wants. :) In this pic she actually stood long enough for me to go get my camera, turn it on and shoot! This weekend she took 1 step but when she fell it hurt her ego so she has decided she would rather sit back down and crawl.
These were taken today behind her walker... there is a video below. She had a blast!

This picture was taken Sunday after church. She was standing up playing with her toys. That was when we realized she had made the transition to standing by accident to standing out of desire (purposefully).

Don't cry over spilled milk

So the title seemed fitting today. Nothing fun here today. Little Bit and I woke up on the wrong sides of our beds apparently. She was so whiny this morning that I was wishing we could both just go back to bed and start the day over.

I decided that we would meet up with the playgroup (you know, change of scenery) and so we got dressed and left the house. As we pulled up I noticed we were the only people who showed up. We go back home and as I got out to get her out of the car I realized that I made a big boo boo giving her a bottle (only 4 oz., no harm done, right?) in her carseat. That little outing resulted in 30 min. to get out the door, 5 min. to drive there, 5 min. to drive back and a load of laundry, scrubbing the truck upholstery and wiping down all the crevices in the carseat and base. NICE GOING MOM! Didn't realize so much milk could escape in such a short time when your baby turns her bottle upside down! ;)

Well, I will get back at my laundry and hoping you all are having a better day!

Updates over the last couple of weeks.

Over the last couple of weeks we have had some exciting things going on in our household. Little Bit has started holding her own bottle, finishing a jar of baby food in one sitting and taking a few steps behind her walker. She is looking more and more like a little girl lately than my baby. We are more in love with her each day. Due to my trip to the ER the other night her daddy has gotten to see her the last two nights before bed too. He was home at 7:30 last night! Yeah for the time change! We love the extra hour together.

I can stand up again!

Praise be to our Heavenly Father who places people in your life just when you need them and is always in control.

I am so thankful this morning for the people in the ER last night who were able to help me stand up again! At about 4:30 yesterday afternoon I sat down on the couch and when I went to stand up I was unable. I tried laying down to stretch my back out and could not put both legs flat on the ground either. At 5:50 I called Vince crying because Little Bit was wanting to be held (which is almost 24/7 lately which is most likely a big factor in my back problems) and I could not hold her. I was in pain, but the crying was due to the fact that I could not "get it done" on my own. I hate not being able to do something and I felt almost claustrophobic as I could not move and was "trapped" sitting down. It was a very scary experience and I have a new appreciation for the handicapped. It took all I had to just make myself sit there and try to console the baby knowing I could not help her in the way she wanted. Thankfully my hubby headed home to take me to the hospital and my neighbors, whom I met just in the last two weeks, came over and bathed Little Bit and put her to bed and stayed with her until we got back last night. It is amazing how the Lord provides not only things for us daily, but people, His servants who are so faithful in giving of their time and energy to help complete strangers. As soon as I met my neighbors I trusted them and so last night the thought never crossed my mind that I should worry about my daughter in their care. We were meant to be here, in this community, in this exact spot at this exact time. As much as I have wanted to be back in St. Aug. I am so thankful that God is in control and He cares for us and loves on us where we are! I am reaffirmed knowing that we are where He put us. Thank you Lord for your loving children and for the sweet hearts that you have placed inside each of them. May I be that same servant in your kingdom!

So, today I am super thankful for my sweet husband for coming home to help me, my amazing and Godly neighbors who were so generous in giving up their evening to help us and the nice people in the ER for helping me get back on my feet.

For those of you who don't know, I have been having back problems since Little Bit was two weeks old. I would bend down to pick something up and not be able to stand back up without pushing off of something. Lately it has been spasming when I stand up but it had always gone away in just a couple of minutes. I believe the move has alot to do with it locking up yesterday. I have been excessively straining it to "get it all done" lately. My hubby and I are go-getters and "have to get it done now" kind of people. It was about 4 a.m. this morning (and a couple pain pills later) before it subsided. I can walk (and pick up the baby) this morning but my lower back is very sore and throbbing so I am having to let Little Bit cry a little more than normal to try to break her of needing me to hold her all the time. I am going to have to help her get over needing to be carried around all the time and will hopefully be able to go back to physical therapy soon and kick this problems behind!!! ;) P.S. The Dr. said I have a strained lumbar.

I’m voting Democrat because of the War on Terror. We have not been attacked once since Sept. 11, 2001, and that was caused by Bill Clinton, but I still don’t feel safe.

I’m voting Democrat because communist economics always work. Look how well off the Soviet Union is right now. That wall in Berlin has never looked better.

I’m voting Democrat because I agree with Joe Biden, that it really is patriotic to pay more taxes. So I’m going to pay a “direct tax.” Instead of wasting time giving it to the government for redistribution, I will give my money to derelicts who loiter outside of liquor stores and methadone clinics.
