Updates

Good morning everyone!

So much to say. First of all let me say thank you to all of you who have been so supportive during of our families changes, i.e. having a baby, moving, etc. We are so appreciative of each of you!

Well, yesterday I took Little Bit to the Dr. and had her weighed. She weighed in at 15 lbs., 14 oz., so even though she eats like a bird she is putting on weight as they expect her to. The Dr. believes that her five month weigh in (when she jumped to the 75th percentile) was a weigh-in error. She believes that the scale was either not reset or it malfunctioned. She said that that one measurement completely threw off her curve. If she removes that weight she is consistently on the 45th percentile curve so she has assured me that she is just fine eating like a bird. (Ladies, when I say eating like a bird, she is literally eating about 18 oz. a day with only about 4 oz. of baby food/cereals. CRAZY!)

We had a very busy day yesterday. We went to the post office, dr. office, grocery store, lunch with Mr. Shealy, travelled to the nursing home to cheer up the residents and had a playdate at Jennifer's (should have taken pics! too cute). We didn't get back home until about 5 p.m. Little Bit had only had about an hour nap in the a.m. so she was exhausted and could not get to sleep. I rocked her until she passed out and then she awoke at 11:00 p.m. and could not go back to sleep. So, for the first time in her life, she was allowed out of bed to play with Mommy until well after midnight. I put her in my bed so she could play bouncy with Daddy's pillows. She leans up and body slams herself into the pillows face first and then just giggles and does it again. We are still holding captive a pillow that Nanny left as it has become the families favorite and it is EXTRA BOUNCY! It is by far the most fought over item in our house.

While Little Bit was up last night I realized she is fighting a sinus infection and was having trouble sleeping because she was so stopped up that she couldn't breathe with her sucky in her mouth and we all know she CAN NOT SLEEP WITHOUT HER PLUG! Therefore, I worked on (against her will) getting as much gunk as I could out of her airways so she could have it back. She finally fell asleep around 1 a.m.

She had also eaten a new kind of baby food yesterday, chicken with veggies, that did not agree with her tummy. I could hear it being upset last night and found some vomit in her bed and in her hair, so she was all around not having a good time.

Well, I need to go spackle a wall and touch up paint... preparing for our move. We will really miss our home here in Florida, but are so thankful we had as much time as we did here.

My "What I am thankful for" list: (not complete, of course)
-That my baby was 6 mos. old before we had a sickness not reflux related
-That my husband has been so wonderful (even more so lately)
-That my baby is happy even when she is sick
-That I have great friends here... even though I have to leave them behind and move, I am so glad we had time to get to know each other
-Our lodging is taken care of for a snow-ski trip in Jan. (hoping we can find the money to secure airfare and actually take the trip) Would LOVE to get away just me and my hubby!

Have a wonderful day!

Forgot... we went to the Dr. this week

So, we went to the Dr. again on Tuesday for shots.... not fun! :)

She had a really good time until they poked her and poked her again! She let us all know how much she did not appreciate her time spent at the doctor. She did very well though and had no reactions. Here are her new stats:

Height 26 inches- 90th percentile (same)
Weight 15 lbs., 13 oz.- 75th percentile (up from 45th last month)
Head 42 cm. - 50th percentile (same as last month but up from 5th percentile at birth.)

Her reflux is getting better and we are almost out of medicine, so we may try a couple of days without it when this prescription runs out to see if it is still really bad or if she can stay off meds.

Last but not least, she is learning to get around on her own. For the last week or so she has been moving backwards, but I had not witnessed it, only knew she was not where I put her when I walked away. So, last night my friend Anna was so gracious to watch her while we went to dinner and a movie and right before we left, we saw it! She gets up on her arms like she wants to crawl, but then just pushes backward. She did it 3 times in a row and then when I pulled out the video camera, she only did it one more time! She knew how much I wanted it on video and was teasing me. :)

Have a wonderful rest of your week!

Just some news...

So we went to the Dr. yesterday and Little Bit's stats are as follows: 12 lbs., 15 oz. (weight is in the 45th percentile) and 25 1/2 inches long (90th percentile)

She had her shots and we have been cleared for solid foods. So exciting. If she likes her rice from a spoon then we can start on some squash, sweet potatoes, bananas, applesauce and pears next week. Yeah! (I am very much expecting face fulls- mine- of spit up baby food!) She likes to spit it all over everything! Exciting times lie ahead.

Alright, some sleep news:
For the last few weeks she has been rolling over in the middle of the night and wanting to be rolled back over. Sometimes up to 30 time a night... every 5 to 30 minutes. It has been wearing us out! SO, we are in the process of helping her to learn to sleep on her back again. I finally broke out the sleep positioner yesterday so she would feel "held" while she sleeps. It worked for her naps yesterday and she slept all night last night. We put her down at 7:15 and she slept until 7:45 this morning. Praise God!

This could very well only have happened because she was up all but 3 hours the night before- screaming at Daddy and me! It was HORRIBLE!!!!! We were so exhausted and pulling our hair out. Not sure if we will have anymore... LOL Just kidding.

I can't really blame her. We were in a different time zone and had a crazy schedule or lack thereof for the last couple of weeks, so I am certain this is completely normal.
