The "A" Gang!

We took a trip to Birmingham recently for the Alabama vs. Virgina Tech game. GREAT GAME!!! ROLLLLLLLL TIDE! I thought I was going to go into labor at the Georgia Dome because I couldn't sit down or even stand still. I was jumping and yelling and rooting on the Tide! We had a blast and were so thankful that Nanny was willing to keep our munchkin and let us go. We are hoping to make it to a couple more games before Little Man gets here.

She loves all of Nanny's animals!

I just loved this picture, she is concentrating in her pigtails and the cat is actually wanting to play with her! (to see it upclose, just click on it!)

I wish I had gotten to the camera just moments before because she was helping her Papa pick up these ball things in their yard and put them in a bucket. She was quite the little helper. Very determined and hard working. I think she may have a summer job one day! ;)

My sis-in-law wanted us to get the kiddos together at "Old McDonalds" as her girls call it, so Nanny and I took Baby K. Our sweet neice A (actually 4 of them are "A's"!) helped Baby K climb up the big play contraption. Only bad part was she had to be rescued by Aunt Yvonne! There was no way I was fitting through those holes prego and I am SOOO thankful she was willing to go rescue my child because she was not coming down that slide on her own free will. Unfortunately the other two cousins were busy, but we got to love on them some too.

These pictures are the classic "monkey see, monkey do" game we play all day. She sees someone else do something and has to try it herself. She actually saw her partner in crime lay on the slide (below) and this (above) was her trying to do it too. Too bad she tried to lay on the stairs. HAD to be uncomfortable, but she did it!

From these pics it doesn't look like they were enjoying themselves, but they really did! They were hugging and loving on each other and playing so well together! We had a great time!

What sweet girls!!!!

Snips and snails and puppy dog tails...

Yes, that's what little boys are made of! I have been thinking so much of our little man lately. Maybe because I carry him with me 24/7 and he likes to karate kick (but in a sweet way!) or maybe because I am scared out of my mind what it will be like with 2 or MAYBE because I am getting excited to hold him and see him and get to know him! Okay, I think it may be a combination of all three if the truth was told.

I got pre-registered at the hospital yesterday, signed up for a tour on November 8th and tasted the cafeteria food. It was super yummy! I had some fried chicken, brocolli, butter beans and a roll. Baby K approved too!

A while back I was having dreams that I was pregnant with more than one, but not multiples per say, but conceived while I was already pregnant. Well, I will have you know there is a lady pregnant like that. I didn't think it was possible and thought it was just anxiety or feelings of overwhelmedness (is that a word) with going from one to two. Check this out!
Pregnant Woman Gets Pregnant If it doesn't pop up, look up "expecting two, but not twins" OR "pregnant woman gets pregnant" Now, in my dreams, I was having like 6 at a time or something crazy, but still, it is bizarre that this can happen.

Wow, I have been shopping! Lately, I have had an incredible nesting instinct and have been buying little man clothes because I think he is gonna come out cold. No, really, just because I have a bunch of pink and don't want him to feel de-masculated (is that a word??) by his mother dressing him like a girl! Our spare bedroom bed has turned into his closet. It is organized by age and I really need to box them up so that we can have guests in the future because otherwise, I just keep adding to it. :)

So, back to my baby boy. I hear there is no love like the love of a mother and son. That makes me happy because for so long I have been terrified because I don't have a clue what to do with little boys. Baby K likes dolls, but thankfully, she equally likes trucks and cars. I think she had a clue that we were having a boy and has started practicing with boy toys. Who knows, she may trade in her hairbows for a seat along side her brother and become a tom boy. I will be happy either way (but will still try to sneak the bows on when she's not looking!).

I can't believe that it is only 78 or less days away. Okay, I know the counter says 81, but I will have him by the Friday before my due date or will be induced that Thursday or Friday. I really hope that if he doesn't come early that he can be born on his daddy's birthday. How special would that be? I mean other than the fact that HH will have to spend his birthday this year in the labor and delivery ward. It's all in the name of love for your son, right?

Alright, gonna get off and post another of pics! Stay tuned.

Chatty Kathy

So, after two doctor appointments yesterday, 3 trips to the pharmacy for 4 prescriptions and a trip to the lab, we are feeling better already! Okay, so maybe the medicine is just talking for me, but I actually have some energy today... very little voice, but some energy, so life is good!

It is my goal to finish cleaning the house by the end of the week, but this weekend is creeping up very quickly... maybe that was too lofty of a goal! :) No, seriously, we spent the better part of the first week curled up on the couch between meals and then Wednesday (all day except for 2 hours) at the docs and it is Thursday already. Whew, time flies when you are having fun, or sick, but still flies!

I decided to take a few minutes out of my busy day (LOL) to blog because as I told my mom it has been 3 weeks. She quickly corrected me and told me actually today is September 24th and I haven't blogged since August 27th, so technically almost a month. Really, who's counting? I guess my mom and maybe a couple other readers are! :) Love you Mom!

So, here goes the real post (now that all the non-sense is out of the way):

I LOVE THIS AGE! No, not my being 29, but Baby K being 1 1/2 years old! She is such a good little girl (most of the time!) and is happy and is learning so much. I have a little sponge on my hands. While at my doctors appointment yesterday she was an angel. Now, this is saying alot because I am usually chasing her around the office telling her "no" and praying that they will call us back already because if they wait much longer they will admit me to the hospital for blood pressure issues. So, I was praising God for her delightfulness in the waiting room and then in the office.

While in the office, I had to have an exam and Baby K started taking her shoes off, I told her "no, please leave your shoes on" and she looked at me and then down at my shoes on the floor and shot me a "life is so unfair" look. I didn't realize that she was just doing what mommy did. She threw a little fit, but it wasn't anything goldfish couldn't handle! Praise the Lord for goldfish!

It got a bit hairy around lunchtime because she was soooo sleepy and they wanted me to pee in a cup for the 3rd time and I just couldn't. Sorry, probably TMI, but Baby K and I walked around the hospital for 1 1/2 hours drinking juice and stopped for lunch for a few minutes all so I could head back to the lab. Finally, with about 3 drops in the cup I told the lady, "Sorry, that's all I've got!" We left and Baby K took a 15 min. nap in the car and then was wide awake.

While in the waiting room, I realized how much she is saying lately. Most of the time I think she says things and I just can't understand her so I don't realize they are real words, but yesterday was different. There was even another lady in the waiting room that understood her. She kept asking me, "did she just say ____." I am so thankful that the Lord allows me to be her mommy and that it was peaceful yesterday and I got to catch so many new words from her. Some of them included: shoes, light, book, and foot. This is in addition to the ones she says all the time like: please, thank you, yes, no, baby, bubble, stinky, yucky, yummy (pronounced "mmmmyy"), love you, puppy, ducky, all kinds of animal sounds and so much more. She is a talking fool!

Also, it is appropriate to note that she wants to do everything mommy does, so I must beware. She wants her toes painted, her legs and underarms shaved, deoderant on, earplugs in, nose blown, bubble soap like mom has, rings on her fingers and a purse on her shoulder. She has recently taken a very big liking to shoes. (see post below) She shoe shops in my closet and often finds pairs and comes out wearing them. It is so cute. Sunday before church she was helping me put my make up on, my jewelry on and she even took the liberty to pick out my shoes... black flip flops with big green bow with my initial on them! I must admit, I kind of like having someone make those decisions for me and think it's awesome she knows that pregnant feet belong in flip flops, but I thought it a bit more appropriate to change shoes when she wasn't looking. ;) Love that little girl so much!

We went to the mall last week and I found a couple of really cute pair of shoes at Payless for her, but didn't buy them. (waiting on a sale!) She gladly helped me remove her shoes and she kept pointing for more shoes she wanted to try on. Then we went to the ladies aisle and she wanted to try on all the shoes I liked too! Thankfully, we walked out without spending a penny, but got some good retail therapy. We didn't do as well at Gymboree, but that's another story. Such cute clothes for my kiddos!

Also yesterday, she changed a stinky on her baby doll. I saw her grab a diaper, take off running across the room hollering "stinky, stinky" and proceed to place the diaper over her whole baby. Maybe we are onto something here! Do you think I could have her trained to change diapers by the time Little Man comes along? Nah, but it's a good thought, huh?

Well, I think I will start another post before I continue...

Maybe this is why I can't walk in heels....

Cause I didn't start early enough!
I heard a clicking noise and turned the corner to see this!
She is a heel-wearing, bike-riding chic!
*Now, I realize she is not dressed and her hair is out of control, but sometimes you just have to grab the camera and catch it!

Vacation in St. Augustine... kinda bizzare, huh?

This post is somewhat of a hodgepodge of the last few weeks.

Last Saturday we ventured off to our old stomping grounds... St. Augustine. We miss that area so much and were so glad to take a few days to get back there. Here are some pics of Daddy and Baby K enjoying the pool at the resort.

After our swim lessons, we ventured out to the pool with the tripletts from across the street. She did very well! She even floated in the big pool all by herself (with me next to her of course) with only her arm floaties on.

Afterward Baby K had some super cute volume going on!
For our anniversary HH sent me this! Baby K and I chowed down for days! We LOVED it! A perfect gift and afternoon snack.

We also hired a sitter and went out on a Murder Mystery Afloat cruise after a yummy dinner at Five Guys. We had a blast and I stayed up until 1 a.m. That doesn't happen very often. ;)
On vacation Baby K woke up from her nap as I was painting my toes and she crawled up next to me to have me paint hers. Cute, huh? I love her chunky little feet.

So much to say, so little time...

** Note: there may be many, many typos as I do not have time to really proof this as I would like, but please forgive me and enjoy. :)

I want to start by apologizing to my sweet husband because I should be on my 4th or 5th load of laundry today, but I am only on my second and I am blogging instead of cleaning. I just have so much to get off my chest that I want to clear my head while it is quiet. Quiet doesn't come often these days. Baby K is in her first really bad week of teething (she woke up very messy- to avoid being graphic) last Tuesday and we have had bad days ever since. When I say bad, I just mean she pretty much cries all day and we have a super hard time getting her to sleep at all during the day and evenings are hit or miss. She is cutting her eye-teeth. Is that how I say/spell it?? The really sharp, pointy teeth in the front. I broke down and sent HH to CVS yesterday because I couldn't locate the teething tablets at Wal-mart last week and he was our knight in shining armor when he walked through the front door yesterday, completely drenched, holding teething tablets in a shiny CVS bag. Thank you HH, you are the best husband and daddy two girls could ask for!

That brings me to my next point.... WE ARE HAVING A BABY BOY in December! We found out last Wednesday and are excited and up for the challenge and I just hope and pray that he is very much like his daddy. I would love to have another zen body around this house to level out Baby K and my energy. :) I am so anxious to see what he will look like and what his personality will be like. All the unknowns!!! If you want to know the new baby's name, just email me. It hasn't really sunk in completely yet, but I am sure it will all be wonderful learning to care for a boy and having a big sister to help!

In the midst of all of the teething, we have had swim lessons. My child hates the water this year if it means you are going to restrict her and keep her safe, so this was a must in my eyes, but up until today, she has cried through every lesson. Today she took an hour and a half nap prior to swim lessons, we were 10 min. late, but she only cried when she was "bobbed" in the water, a.k.a. dunked! I think she did phenomenal considering I was completely submerging her on the count of 3 over and over.

Now, with these trials have come many cuddles. She just wants to lay on HH and I's laps and watch Tigger and Pooh and Barney all day while she munches on crunchy cereal. The laying on momma has been nice as she usually is not very cuddly. So, out of her pain has come some really sweet mommy-daughter and daddy-daughter times of consoling our sweet little girl.

We had company the better part of the last two weeks and I am so grateful for their tolerance of me, being tired and hot and pregnant (and maybe moody LOL) and for Baby K being a bit fussy and discontent at times (or most of the last two weeks LOL). We are quite a pair, mommy and baby, and we really appreciate you all accepting us just the way we are! We loved having you all, come back and see us soon!!!!!

Okay, another random thought. It just hit me this weekend when I was talking to mom about the day Baby K was born that I will have to endure labor again. Oh my! What was I thinking??? LOL I know 10 minutes after it was over and I was holding my baby girl that I told HH that it was worth it and I think I could do that again, but I am remembering the 10 minutes before I held her and like I said, OH MY! Well, I guess I will do what I did the whole time I was pregnant with her, live in denial. Yep, that's right. I skipped all prenatal classes and just relied on the doctors to get me through. I told them we would have no talk of the size of the epidural needle and that when the doctor entered the room, he better hide the syringe or we would have a problem. They all complied and the doctor (and my sweet nurse and mother and my husband who cheered me on from the couch) all got me through it. I am hoping we can be as successful again. Okay, not going to think about it anymore. Yeah right, I will keep telling myself that. :)

Okay, I better run back up and move our loads and loads of laundry as I am WAY behind. :)

Our love to all!
K
